探险地简介：白马雪山位于云南省德钦县境内，面积190144公顷，主要保护对象为高山针叶林、山地植被垂直带自然景观和滇金丝猴。在冬季，千里冰封、万里雪飘，游览之人可尽情领略雪域风情。夏季的白马雪山，冰雪消融，到处高山流水，杜鹃花灿烂绚丽，林中则百鸟轻鸣，群猴嬉戏。到秋季，白马雪山的自然景观则更别有情致。保护区气候随着海拔的升高而变化，形成河谷干热和山地严寒的特点，自然景观垂直带谱十分明显；在海拔2300米以下的金沙江干热河谷，为疏林灌丛草坡带，生境干旱，植被稀疏；海拔3000－3200米的云雾山带上，分布着针阔叶混交林，树种组成丰富；海拔3200－4000米，地势高峻而冷凉，分布着亚高山时暗针叶林带，主要由长苞冷杉、苍山冷杉等多种冷杉组成，林相整齐，为滇金丝猴常年栖息之地，是保护区森林资源的主要部分和精华所在；海拔4000米以上，为高山灌丛草甸带、流石滩稀疏植被带；海拔5000米以上为极高山冰雪逞，每一个带都各有特色。
